There are many things women want to do as a part of their daily routine but are made to feel sorry about it. This process of making us females feel ashamed of our choices and desires sometimes even extends to, ‘My gosh! You’re breathing freely?’ It’s time that we put an end to this tradition and reclaim our space.
Here is a list of all those things that you should stop apologizing for as a woman.
Saying no
We’ve all been in situations where saying no was necessary, but we couldn’t say it. Even when we did, we were made to feel guilty about it.
Learn to say no, and when you finally do, don’t be apologetic about it. You should know when to back out of something that makes you uncomfortable. Say no, unapologetically.
Following your dreams
Life is too short and beautiful to waste on regrets. We all have dreams but often lack the courage to pursue them. Stop listening to anyone who bars you from following your dreams. Shun out the voices of your parents telling you, ‘but what will people say.’
Accept that people will say things even if you don’t do anything, so you might as well listen to rants of society and pursue your passion, unapologetically.
Dressing up for yourself
Break the myth that women dress up to impress others and reiterate that we do it for ourselves because we love ourselves and are not sorry about it.
Knowing what you want in life
We all know how people feel threatened by a woman who knows what she wants in life. Scare them more and don’t feel sorry about doing so. If you’re too ambitious for people, so be it.
Crushing the stereotypes
It’s 2020, girls, and you’re still worrying if you fit in the mold the society has structured for you? Break free of the clay that ties you.
Break the stereotypes associated with being a woman and do what your heart desires the most. Remember, we’re all beautiful in our unique ways. So, define yourself the way you want. Set out your limits yourself and follow your inner compass, not the compass of stereotypes, telling you how you should and should not behave.
Being yourself
And finally, but most importantly, never be apologetic for being yourself. The world needs you more than you can imagine, so gear up, women, and claim your identity!
